This is a large scale print piece that done annually for University Housing and Dining by the Student Life Communications team. It is a 35 page guidebook that is given to 6,000 students at summer orientation and informs students of everything they need to know about living on campus.

This is a newsletter that is sent to former resident assistants. This newsletter is sent out on a quarterly basis. I was responsible for gathering all content, interviewing subjects, and writing all feature pieces.

When the University of Iowa began making plans for the Fall 2020 semester, students, faculty, and staff knew that this would be a semester like no other in the institution’s history. To assess the experiences of students living on campus, University Housing and Dining conducted a survey in October 2020, asking questions about various components of the residential housing and dining system.

“Your home. Your community. All in one place.” This is the message that University Housing & Dining communicated to student residents when a campaign was launched in November 2017 to encourage students to live on campus for additional years.

For students living on campus, their room is more than just a living space. It’s an opportunity to showcase their individual personality, style, décor, and background. Students are able to highlight the uniqueness of their space, by choosing to enter the Amazing Room Contest.

College can be a stressful time in any student’s life. The ever-changing schedule and rigorous academic, professional, and social demands can leave a student feeling like there is no time left in their day for self-care.
